To HPAI Members from EAHP,

This upcoming autumn, the European Association of Hospital Pharmacists (EAHP) will have the pleasure of presenting its first Synergy Masterclass. On 5th and 6th October 2018, hospital pharmacists and healthcare professionals will be gathering in Brussels, Belgium to learn more about Management & Leadership.

The main goal of the newly established EAHP Synergy Masterclasses is to provide healthcare professionals, regardless of their position, with continuing education on the most ground-breaking issues and most needed topics in the hospital setting, making the programme effectively a one or two-day mini congress. The growing importance of the hospital pharmacists’ involvement in multidisciplinary teams alongside physicians, nurses and other professionals working in the hospital setting has led to the development of EAHP’s Synergy Masterclasses. By bringing together hospital pharmacists with other healthcare professionals this class aims at fostering the multidisciplinary approach in the hospital setting. The EAHP Synergy Masterclasses are recognised as a valid continuing pharmacy education and are accredited by ACPE.

The first EAHP Synergy Masterclass will address leadership and management skills. The two-day event will feature seminars by experts as well as workshops in which participants are encouraged to share their unique experiences. The workshops will have real-life case scenarios for participants to solve, developing leadership skills to be applied in a daily professional environment. The Synergy Masterclass will also include topics such as strategic planning, efficiency, team building, process mapping, problem-solving, change management, motivating people and managing resistance, and various useful Lean Six Sigma aids will be introduced to participants, such as value stream mapping as well as Obeya and Kanban boards. Overall, this comprehensive Masterclass will provide a unique overview of all the necessary tools healthcare professionals need to thrive in leadership and management roles and activities.

We highly encourage you and your members to participate in our first Synergy Masterclass, as it will provide participants with useful tools for improving everyday practice, allowing you to hone your leadership and management skills. Like all EAHP educational events, also the Synergy Masterclasses are linked with our 44 European Statements of Hospital Pharmacy.

Registration is open until 10th August 2018. Seats are however limited. So don’t wait too long to secure a spot! Registration fees are €200 for EAHP Members and €400 for Non-Members. You can register via our website.

The Synergy Masterclass will take place on 5th and 6th October 2018 at Hotel Van der Valk Brussels Airport, Culliganlaan 4, 1831 Diegem (Brussels), Belgium.

Participants are highly advised to book their accommodation at the Synergy Masterclass hotel. The hotel room can be directly booked during the registration process.
