    1 FTE x Senior Pharmacist Position

    An exciting opportunity has arisen in our pharmacy for a Senior Pharmacist to work, in conjunction with the pharmacy team to  develop the pharmacy service, retain JCI accrediation and provide class leading pharmaceutical care to our patients. This is an excellent opportunity for ambitious candidates who would like to join a dynamic and state of the art hospital. Part of the role will be to lead out on the antimicrobial stewardship program (AMS) on behalf of the pharmacy department.

     

    Under the supervision of the Chief Pharmacist, you will provide safe, effective and cost-efficient pharmaceutical care for the patients of the Mater Private Cork and help the Chief Pharmacist to maintain the highest standards of care and patient satisfaction. Providing medicines information and counselling to patients, their carers and other healthcare professionals and being part of the multidisciplinary team.

     Candidate Requirements

    ·         BSc or MSc in Pharmacy

    ·         Be registered with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI)

    ·         Be registered with the Irish Institute of Pharmacy (IIOP) and maintain accreditation of their continuing professional development (CPD) standards.

    ·         Awareness / Sensitivity toward patient needs

    ·         Previous experience in antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) programs an advantage

    ·         Discretion and ability to use initiative

    ·         Good interpersonal skills

    ·         An ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

    ·         Strong organisational skills and an ability to work to tight deadlines

    ·         Flexibility in working hours.
