SENIOR PHARMACIST - CANCER SERVICES - CORK UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

CUH Pharmacy department is seeking to recruit a Senior Pharmacist to join the pharmacy cancer services team. The team has grown significantly in size over the past number of years and now includes 7 pharmacists and 8 senior pharmaceutical technicians.

The senior pharmacist (oncology and compounding) has a diverse and dynamic role in pharmacy cancer care (please see the attached job description). As well as undergoing training in the aseptic compounding service the pharmacist will, with training, be involved in delivering clinical pharmacy services within the cancer inpatient and outpatient services.

We have encountered some challenging circumstances with our ACU facility of late. However, work is in progress planning a new interim unit which the team will be involved in equipping  and commissioning in February/March 2023. This is an opportunity to gain experience in the development of a new aseptic compounding unit. We are also soon embarking on the rollout of the National Cancer Information System (NCIS) within CUH,, and this critical development will also involve a Senior Pharmacist post .

For expediency, this is a temporary position initially, but eligible candidates can apply for a permanent position on an upcoming senior pharmacist recruitment campaign for CUH which will be advertised by the HBS in the next few months.

Enquiries can be made to Lorraine Griffin (Lorraine.Griffin@hse.ie or at 087 2957453). Apply with CV to Lorraine Griffin at the email address above.
