Senior Pharmacist – Tymon North Unit, Tallaght University Hospital

TUH Pharmacy Department has received approval to recruit four new posts to provide Pharmacy Services to the Tymon North Unit, a senior clinical pharmacist, senior medicines management technician, a basic grade pharmacist and a basic grade pharmacy technician.  Tymon North is an acute inpatient medical gerontology unit, located offsite in Tymon North Community Unit and operated by Tallaght University Hospital. This unit has 48 beds across two inpatient wards and is staffed by a full medical and nursing team, with a dedicated multidisciplinary team (physiotherapy, occupational therapy, Pharmacy services, dietetics, speech and language therapy, medical social work). Patients are transferred to the unit from the main hospital campus for ongoing acute medical care and rehabilitation before being discharged home.

These new pharmacy roles and service provide an exciting opportunity to establish excellent pharmacy processes, to provide medicines management leadership in an off-site unit and to work collaboratively with our gerontology colleagues. Staff will spend time in Tymon and on TUH campus, with different balances depending on role.

The Senior Clinical Pharmacist – Tymon North Lead role has been advertised this week on the TUH website.

If you would like further information, Jane Kenny, Clinical Pharmacy Services Manager, would be very happy to chat or answer any questions. Tel: 01-4143429, email: jane.kenny@tuh.ie
